Dr. Paul Ashton
President & Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Ashton was named the Company’s President & Chief Executive Officer in January 2009 having previously served as Managing Director from January 2007 to January 2009 and Executive Director of Strategy from December 2005 to January 2007. Dr. Ashton was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Control Delivery Systems, Inc. (“CDS”) from 1996 until its acquisition by pSivida in December 2005. CDS was a drug delivery company that Dr. Ashton co-founded in 1991. Prior to co-founding CDS, Dr. Ashton was a joint faculty member in the Departments of Ophthalmology and Surgery at the University of Kentucky, served on the faculty of Tufts University and worked as a pharmaceutical scientist at Hoffman-La-Roche. Dr. Ashton received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Durham University, England, and a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical science from the University of Wales.

Lori Freedman
Vice President of Corporate Affairs, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary
Ms. Freedman has served as the Company’s Vice President of Corporate Affairs, General Counsel and Company Secretary since May 2006. Ms. Freedman is the former Vice President of Corporate Affairs, General Counsel, and Secretary of Control Delivery Systems. She was previously Vice President, Business Development, and Counsel of Macromedia, Inc. and Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Allaire Corporation. Ms. Freedman has also worked for the law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery. Ms. Freedman received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Psychology from Brandeis University and a JD from Boston University School of Law.

Len Ross
Controller, Principal Financial and Accounting Officer
Mr. Ross has served as the Company’s Controller since October 2006 and was named Principal Financial and Accounting Officer in March 2009. Mr. Ross is the former Corporate Controller of NMT Medical, Inc. and previously served as Vice President of Finance and Vice President of International Operations for JetForm Corporation. Mr. Ross brings 30 years of accounting and financial management experience to the Company. Mr. Ross received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.

Marty Nazarro
Vice President of Operations
Mr. Nazzaro has served as the Company’s Vice President of Operations since November 2009 having previously served as Director of Operations from May 2006 to November 2009. Mr. Nazzaro is the former Director of Manufacturing for Control Delivery Systems. Prior to CDS, Mr. Nazzaro held a variety of positions with Boston Scientific Corporation including responsibilities in logistics, R&D, manufacturing and distribution, including responsibility for distribution of cardiac care devices. Mr. Nazzaro has over 19 years of product life cycle and operations experience. Mr. Nazzaro received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Suffolk University in Boston, MA.

Dr. Hong Guo
Vice President of Research
Dr. Guo has served as the Company’s Vice President of Research since November 2009 having previously served as Director of Research from January 2006 to November 2009. Prior to joining pSivida, Dr. Guo served as the Director of Preformulation and as a Senior Scientist for Control Delivery Systems where she was one of the original inventors of both the Medidur and Retisert sustained release drug delivery systems. Prior to joining CDS, Dr. Guo was a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist at New England Eye Center and at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Guo received Masters of Science in Medicinal Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from China Pharmaceutical University and Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Heidelberg.
